Group One
Last week, Renita and Roxane brought white socks for children to create animal puppets. Children chose and created different animals. During our Metro Theater experience, we were joined by each child's puppet, including: a rhino, horse, dog, sea turtle, pony, dog, unicorn, and a bird. They acted out different emotions with their puppet (happy, sad, angry, etc.)
Then, the children used their puppets in a puppet show. Half of the group were in the puppet show and the other half were in the orchestra playing musical instrument. The orchestra helped tell the story through sound.
Group Two
The children read the book Quick As A Cricket. The identified the different animals in the book and their quality of movement. They reread the book and brought the animals to life by acting each animal out.
