Book:
Mia: Those are both standing up.(pointing to a couple of cookies)
Eloise: Some are made by children and some are made by grown ups.
Ellie: They (trays of clay creations) are both made of clay.
Katie mentioned the agreements about caring for the clay animals in the zoo and asked for a reminder about those.
Sigrid: Try to keep them in one piece
Harlow: Be gentle.
Julie read the posted agreements, in the zoo area, and we talked about how those agreements would apply to the clay in the dramatic play area, as well. Katie asked what would you do if you were playing with a rainbow cookie and it accidentally broke? What could you do next? Harlow suggested that sometimes you have to glue them or you will have to make them again. The final agreement was that it would be a good idea to check in with the friend who made the broken clay piece and ask them how they would like it fixed, by make a new one or or just throw it out. We talked about how they might feel sad about it and to be kind when coming to them.
