Snack: Cheese, Oranges, and Watermelon
Today we read an interactive book, where the children pressed, shook, blew on and counted. Every time the children participated something about the book changed. Some children also noticed that it looked like little yellow and little blue were characters in this book too! | Harry brought something he found at home to share. During morning meeting several children shared what they noticed and if they had a connection to the object. Harry: This is a bug and it's dead, because it has a hole in it's shell. Brady: It is a cicada shell. I have seen those before! Harry: I think there was someone who stepped on the shell and now it's dead. Ellie: There was a giant cicada on the step by my front door at home. Katie: Does it look like the one you saw? Ellie: It's more gianter, this one. Birk: I noticed that it had a long cracky hole. Harry: It's okay little guy. We'll be gentle. Harlow: It feeled like a shell, crunchy. Lily: It crunched! Morgan: Did it crack? Harry: It's just a hole. |
