At Morning Meeting today, we talked about how you can make a message, pay special attention to letting them know who the message is to and who it is from. Sigrid explained how she made a message that was a picture of a rainbow for Mia. She shared the steps she took to make it and deliver it:
First, I got some paper and thought about who I wanted to make it for and what idea I had. Then, after I wrote her name and mine, in secret code, right here on the front.
Afterwards we talked about another way to let a friend know that a message if for them could be to glue on a picture of them and one of themselves. Taking all that to heart here are some words and happenings from the Message Center:
Lucy: This is fun! I'm glad I went here today! This is a rainbow for Suzette.
Hattie: I'm making a picture for my mommy. She's out of town. I'm putting a circle on a picture.
Ellie: So am I.
Hattie: I'm making a little drawing too.
Ellie: Oh. It's for you ( as she gestures toward Lucy)
Lucy: Yes! It's for me. (as she smiles a BIG smile)
Teacher Susan: Can you tell me about your drawing Suzette?
Suzette: A sun, polka dots! Because Lucy was drawing and I wanted to draw some too.
(After both looking at the messages that they made for each other)
Lucy: Do you like it?
Suzette: Yea!
Lucy: YAY!!!
Lucy: Bababbabbbba ba (musically, while she works on the finishing touches)
