Morning Meeting Conversation
Katie: I noticed some patterns and things that looked the same in your studio paintings. I noticed similar colors and shapes. I wonder what did you notice? Would anyone like to share what they made?
Harlow: It looks like Sigrid's and Mia's look the same. They both have rainbow pumpkins and dots. They also have all brown around their pumpkins. Mine is different, because it has more white.
Katie: I wonder why your painting has more white?
Harlow: It has more white space, because they painted around their pumpkins. Some pumpkins stick together.
Lily: This is two carrots and dots and crowns. They have dots and mine has them too.
Lucy: It's a rainbow.
Brady: It's a big circle. It's also on the same side of the paper.
Ellie: This is a design and I colored it brown. There are different size circles.
Izzy: This is a house and this is where you watch T.V. and there is an Ipad and where you exercise and there are bedrooms.
Kath: What is the shape of the paper?
Brady: It's a rectangle.
Kath: I noticed the shapes that you've been drawing are different and I cut some paper into the circle shape to place in the studio.
Katie: I wonder what will happen next and what type of paper you will pick, if you go to the Studio to paint? The teachers would like to share your paintings, like the teacher in the book we read today. Would it be okay to keep and display your work?
All the children: YES!
